Dr. Cheryl Sine (Veterinarian) Dr. Sine is a 2003 graduate
of the
University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary
school she completed a one year internship at Georgia Veterinary
Specialists in Atlanta. During this year she received additional
training in Ophthalmology, Neurology, Emergency Medicine and Internal
Medicine. Following her internship she joined a five doctor small animal
and referral surgery practice in Peachtree City, Georgia. She remained
at that practice for 6 years until moving to Columbia in May 2010. She
joined the Elam Animal Hospital family in June.Brenda Boozer (Office Manager) is originally from Indiana and moved to Columbia in 1979. She has been at Elam since 1983. Brenda attended Midlands Technical College where she studied secretarial sciences and bookkeeping. She is married with three children and three step-children and nine grandchildren. She has four dogs and enjoys painting watercolor, camping and flower gardening.
Pam ZeRuth (Coordinating Manager) is originally from Paducah, KY. She moved to Columbia in 1990. Pam attended Murray State University where she majored in Broadcast Jounalism/Political Science. She has three rescue dogs, two rescue cats, and fish. She is married with three boys and enjoys spending time with family, camping, riding the Harley, swimming and reading. She has been with Elam since 1992.
Bill Barnes (Kennel Manager) is originally from Greenville, SC. He moved to Columbia as a child and attended Lower Richland High School. He is married with two children and two grandchildren, along with two dogs and a fish, but hopes to have another snake soon. Bill enjoys target shooting, spending time outdoors, spending time with family and friends. He has been with Elam for seven years.
Nikki Shipe (Receptionist) attended USC, GA Tech, Midlands Technical College, and Velencia in Florida. She has worked in veterinary clinic and hospitals for about 14 years in both South Carolina and Florida. Nikki has 4 dogs, 1 horse, and 1 rabbit.
Guin Pavkov ( Vet-tech) Guin has been working with animals for eighteen years. She graduated with a BS in Biology, Conservation Biology with a minor in Wildlife Biology from Thiel College, Greenville PA in 1998. Guin has been a Licensed Vet Tech since earning her Degree in 2002 from Tri-County Technical College in Pendleton, SC.
Lisa Weaver (Groomer) Lisa is originally form Pitersburg, VA., and currnetly lives in Lugoff, SC. She attended Shenandoah University and majored in equestrian studies. She showed horses and trained racehorses for many years. She has also shown dogs in obedience, taught k-9 obedience and currently shows her Australian Terriers in conformation. Her show dog, Tucker, was a top-10 Aussie in 2009 and is currently a top-5 ranked Aussie for 2010. Lisa has 3 Australian Terriers, a Norfolk Terrier and a Welsh Terrier.
Lisa is married and has a teen son and a daughter in the 5th grade. Lisa was a vet-tech for over 8 years and has groomed dogs for two Veterinary clinics and also for private clients.
